Mission Heritage Seminars are unique educational experiences which study Jewish ancestral roots, research the sources of Jewish life in Eastern Europe and identify with our heritage. Through extensive visits to the destroyed centers of Jewish culture and scholarship and a course of creative academic study that takes place throughout the seminar, participants strengthen their Jewish identity, awareness, and commitment to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. At the core of the Heritage educational approach is the premise that in order to comprehend the depth of the Holocaust tragedy, one must initially study the lifestyles and richly colored panorama of Jewish life in Eastern Europe pre-war. A thorough analysis of the Torah centers, Jewish communities, personalities, leadership, literature and cultural centers must take place in order to appreciate the extent of the loss that took place as result of the Holocaust. The Heritage educational methodology involves hands-on on-site study, intense analysis, commemorative programs and evening evaluations.
