Rules, Regulations, and What to Bring

Heritage Seminars will have a profound impact on your perspectives regarding Israel, Judaism, and on you. You will be searching out the past, your roots, and your heritage, in order to understand, identify, and bond with a past that is no more. It is our hope that this seminar will impart knowledge and pride in our people and in our Heritage.

    Please Read Carefully:
Heritage Seminars reserves the right to cancel a student's participation in the seminar at any time due to violations of rules and regulations, security or medical reasons, or behavior deemed inappropriate by Heritage. We ask that you read the section in your guidebook regarding security carefully, and observe all security rules and regulations.

    Security:

    3. Do not speak to "friendly" strangers in the lobby, or reveal itinerary or timetable information.
    4. Do not ask for anything to be delivered to your room or accept delivery of anything to your room.
    5. Do not accept mail or packages from strangers for delivery to "relatives" in Israel or in America.
    6. Lock your room at all times - even during brief visits to the rooms of other students. When leaving, always take your passport, money, plane tickets and any special medication that you have.
    7. Report to the security agent any suspicious items or any suspicious individuals in the hotel.
    8. Avoid illegal monetary transactions.
    9. Never leave your passport, tickets or money on the bus.

    About the Itinerary:
The itinerary developed by Heritage Seminars reflects the collective experiences of the educational staff, and the input of students who have attended the program. All itineraries are subject to change without notice due to: weather-related conditions, changes in flight schedules, hotel availability, security or medical related issues. The decision to change or cancel any part of the itinerary will be made only by the Director, after consultation with the educational staff, security personnel.

    A Word about the Camps:
There is no way to prepare fully for such a visit, nor is there a way to predict reactions to the camps. Some students will approach the camps as an academic investigation, while others will tour the camps alone, expressing visible signs of emotion. All reactions - or the lack of them - are normal and to be expected. You will need "space" to absorb and collate the experience on your own terms.
